The Spartan Race is a world-renowned event which started in the USA, before soaring across North America and then heading for Europe, East Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.
Abu Dhabi will feature standard formats – ‘Sprint’, ‘Super’ and ‘Junior’ – for participants of each fitness proficiency.
‘Sprint’ is considered the easiest category since it entails the shortest distance – an entry-level 5km course for athletes looking to familiarise themselves with obstacle racing but still prepared to take on the 20 obstacles.
Next in line, the ‘Super’ bracket is crafted for intermediate and advanced participants keen on testing their limits alongside fellow Spartans. This course will test endurance, perseverance and grit as challengers will need to complete more than 13km of rugged terrain, laden with at least 25 obstacles.
Last but not least, young aspiring Spartans are urged to take part in the ‘Junior’ division, which allows children as young as four to traverse 1.5km, with up to 14 obstacles scattered across their path leading to the finish line.
