  • Gritty affair: Everton will hope to get their season on track with a good performance against Manchester City.

Andy Gray: Manchester City go to Goodison today without Yaya Toure who is with the Ivory Coast team preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations but they have enough strength in depth to cope without him. Everton concede far too many goals and pass the ball too much without getting an end result. They looked a bit better against West Ham in the FA Cup and they have a decent record against City which is why I think they might just nick a point here. 1-1.

Richard Keys: City will beat Everton who I think are in real trouble. I have heard there is some unrest in the dressing room over the passing game that Roberto Martinez has adopted. He has got to make some changes towards the way he thinks the game needs to be played. If he doesn’t things will only get worse. As for this game, 2-0 to City.

    Chelsea v Newcastle

AG: Good game for Chelsea to have after the horror result at Tottenham which might just have given them a kick up the backside at just the right time of the season. Newcastle are not good travellers and I fancy Chelsea to get back on track with a 3-0 win.

RK: Newcastle haven’t won anything since 1969, the year man landed on the moon. If they want to change that then I think they should get Rafael Benitez to replace Alan Pardew. For now though, it’s a mess and Chelsea won’t have any trouble winning this one. 2-0.

    Sunderland v Liverpool

AG: I watched Liverpool struggle to beat AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup and it was a really ordinary performance against Leicester at Anfield the week before. Sunderland are not great but I don’t think Liverpool are good enough to beat them. 1-1.

RK: It was laughable when Brendan Rodgers said they went to Burnley and got a good result. Come on… Burnley?! Liverpool should go there every season and get a win. The truth is they are not very good. 1-1.

    Arsenal v Stoke

AG: Stoke are on a decent run and I can see them causing Arsenal a few problems but because it is at the Emirates I am going to give this to the Gunners. 2-1.

RK: Stoke could get something out of this. They are not far away from being a good side and Arsenal look vulnerable in defence where Peter Crouch could have an impact. 1-1.

    Man United v Southampton

AG: United won at St Mary’s earlier this season but defensive mistakes by Southampton gifted them victory and Saints are much better than they were that day. They will give as good as they get but United have Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria back and the Old Trafford factor will also help. 3-1.

RK: Southampton have started to believe again and I am still not convinced by United who are iffy at the back. If Saints take the game to United they can win this 2-1.

    Burnley v QPR

AG: QPR have played nine away games and have lost them all. They are going to win on the road at some stage but Sean Dyche has got Burnley believing again so it won’t be here. 1-0.

RK: If this was at Loftus Road I would have no hesitation in predicting a QPR win but it’s not so 2-1 to Burnley.

    Leicester v Aston Villa

AG: Villa tend to struggle away from home but they can be dangerous on the break. They still lack genuine firepower for me but Christian Benteke is always a threat. 2-2.

RK: Leicester have found a bit of belief again and Villa look devoid of any real threat on the goal scoring front. 1-0 home win.

    Swansea v West Ham

AG: We saw a bit of a wobble from West Ham during the festive season so Sam Allardyce will be looking for improvement. Swansea are good at home and although Wilfried Bony won’t be playing they are still good enough to beat the Hammers. 2-0.

RK: Bony will be missed but Swansea will still score. However, I think West Ham are good enough to get a point. 2-2.

    West Brom v Hull

AG: A change of manager at West Brom has seen Tony Pulis take charge and he will have his side at it. I think the new-boss factor will play a huge part and the Baggies will have too much for Hull. 2-0.

RK: West Brom will be riding a wave of relief after Pulis took control because I think the players had stopped listening to Alan Irvine. Hull are fragile and will be overwhelmed. 3-0.

    Crystal Palace v Tottenham

AG: Tottenham are one of the form teams of the moment but the appointment of Alan Pardew as new Palace boss will give the home side a huge lift because he is popular at the club. I can’t see Spurs getting beaten but they will have to settle for a score draw. 2-2.

RK: On the basis of the new man syndrome and the fact that the place will be jumping with Pardew in charge this will be Tottenham’s toughest game for a while. 2-1 home win.
