Barcelona star Luis Suarez says it was a dream come to true to have signed for Liverpool.
The Uruguayan international is still enamoured at Anfield after a stunning three spell following his £22.8million move from Ajax in 2011.
The 30-year-old was at the heart of Liverpool’s tilt at the Premier League title in 2013/14 before making a £65million switch to Barcelona.
He has since gone on to win the Champions League, Club World Cup as well as two La Liga titles but he still holds the Reds high in his thoughts.
“When I was little, Liverpool was one of the biggest clubs in Europe and was renowned throughout the world,” he told LFC TV.
“So when I found out about the club’s interest in me I was never in doubt because it’s the dream for any player.
“I never imagined that I would get the chance to play there.”
Suarez reserved special mention for the Liverpool fans as he added: “At Anfield, the fans get right behind you come what may.
“The affection that they show to you is just so special, which in turn makes you lift up your head and respond, rather than letting it drop a little.
“For me, this is just what the Liverpool fans have.”
