  • Set sail: Visitors can take part in a unique Fishing Trip Experience.

Watersport and marine lovers can unite at the Dubai International Boat Show, which has returned better than ever to excite fans with even more to showcase.

The 24th edition of the popular event got under way on Tuesday and continues daily into the weekend until Saturday, March 5 at International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi.

After 23 years as one of the most anticipated shows in the UAE calendar, the exhibition is bringing even more to the table with a new visitor experience which will include dazzling superyachts, sailing and fishing trips, watersport stunts, taster sessions of stand-up paddle boarding and windsurfing, as well as first-time-ever beach access and on-yacht dining experiences.

Overall, more than 30,000 visitors from 120 countries are expected to attend, with more than 430 boats on land and water scheduled for viewing, along with over 800 exhibitors and brands from 51 countries.

The Dubai show has long been regarded as a must-see event.

    as a must-see event.

“Great events become truly exceptional when they become experiential in nature,” said Trixie LohMirmand, senior vice president, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organisers of Dubai International Boat Show.

“Dubai, as an Emirate, has long spearheaded this trend and has developed an international reputation for being a must-visit global lifestyle destination, and the Dubai International Boat Show aims to embody this reputation as we continue to expand on our world class features.

“In our almost two-and-a-half decades of history, the show has clearly witnessed a shift in the way visitors want to participate and how exhibitors want to showcase their products. Increasingly, marine enthusiasts who attend our show are looking for an on-water experience which encourages more buyers of boats, marine accessories and water sports equipment – which further boosts the regional industry.”

Interactive and free activities will make the experience truly hands-on.

For the first time ever, the beach has been opened up to visitors to include a range of watersports, with sessions for catamaran, stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing and kayaking, in association with Watercooled UAE.

Visitors can take part in the unique Fishing Trip Experience, which will be held three times per day to give everyone interested a chance to get a crash course in fishing, in partnership with Boat Pilot UAE.

The Hands on Boating Experience, meanwhile, will also take place three times each day and teach participants the basics of owning and driving a boat, in conjunction with Marine Concept Sea School and Yacht Charter.

A number of talks, conferences and seminars will also take place for those eager to gain more knowledge, as experts in the field of fishing, diving, sailing and watersports, along with marine industry authorities, will be present.

You can sit back and be amazed by the daily daredevil jetpack, flyboard and fly bike stunts that will excite crowds.

The Dubai International Boat Show will be split into the following key sectors: DIBS Sailing, Fishing & Watersports, Marina Display Area, Equipment Supplies & Services, Luxury & Lifestyle, External Area, Superyacht Boulevard, Dive Middle East Exhibition, Supercar Promenade, UAE Inspired Pavilion, VIP Majlis, On Water VIP Superyacht Experience. Admission is Dh60 per day and tickets can be purchased onsite.

Children under the age of 12 gain free entry. The show will run from 15:00 to 21:30 daily. For additional details on what’s on offer, visit www.boatshowdubai.com.
