  • What's your favourite outdoor gym in Dubai?

Fresh air, beach access, green grass: there’s no better training ground then the outdoors.

So, before it gets too hot outside, it’s time to bust out of the office, the car, and the gym and experience the benefits of Mother Nature by checking out some of these great outdoor training spots in Dubai.

    THE WAREHOUSE BEACH GYM, JBR

As far as training goes, it doesn’t get much better than enjoying a view of the beach while working out, followed by a refreshing swim!

Located at The Beach in JBR (and, literally, on the beach), Dubai’s version of Muscle Beach comes in this outdoor set up by Warehouse gym and consists of a CrossFit rig and the usual weight training equipment. It is open for anyone to use, either to use for their own training or join one of the group classes they will be running, which include CrossFit, Spin and Commando circuit classes.

THE DROP ZONE AT SKY DIVE DUBAI

    Sky Dive Dubai.

    Sky Dive Dubai.

Dubai’s awesome Skydive Dubai outdoor gym has had a pretty cool makeover to offer a workout playground like no other. New equipment has been added to the gym, which is now spread across a bigger area, as well as new flooring and a new sprint track and, best of all, shading over the entire area! There’s also a new kids play area.

Think climbing ropes, boxes, sprint track, monkey bars, and plenty of grass area for you to utilize for whatever workout you can dream up. Plus, if you have your own workout equipment – like a TRX, for example – there are specific bars you can use as an anchor point. If you prefer to train at night, outdoor lighting currently switches on at 6pm lasts for around two hours. There is no charge to use the gym.

The outdoor gym is located Dubai Marina, Al Seyahi Street – around 100 meters into the same road that leads to Skydive Dubai.

    AL BARSHA POND PARK

    Al Barsha Pond Park.

    Al Barsha Pond Park.

Al Barsha’s Pond Park features a soft 1.4km running track that encircles a pond and is marked every 100m, so it’s great for jogs or sprints. There is plenty of parking near the main park entrance and the park is open until 10pm every day. We’re liking the new addition of the express Park Island cafe, and on Saturday evenings you’ll find the RIPE Food and Crafts night market down there as well!.

    THE PALM JUMEIRAH

    Palm Jumeirah.

    Palm Jumeirah.

Tucked away on the Palm is the Palm Jumeirah Ittihad Park, featuring a 2.7km running track lined with other exercise tools. The track runs alongside the monorail around the Trump Tower station, and is easily accessible from in front of the Fairmont Hotel, where you will find parking too. There are also playground areas for kids in the park as well as workout stations/equipment positioned along the track, including pull-up bars, so you can break up your run with other exercises along the way too.

    UMM SUQEIM PARK

    Umm Suqeim Park.

    Umm Suqeim Park.

Close to Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Umm Suqeim Park is a peaceful green family park with plenty of space to fit in a workout. Before or after a workout, it is a great place for some peace and quiet, offering a a little café, play areas for children and a beautiful beach right at its doorstep. It is the perfect place to get away for a few hours in the morning or afternoon.
