  • These sporting stars are celebrating.

Known for his pace and outswing, New Zealand’s fast bowler Tim Southee rose to international prominence in 2008.

Having made an impressive mark in his Test debut, Southee made sure he became a bowling mainstay for New Zealand. With Trent Boult, he formed one of the world’s best pace bowling pair and the duo worked wonders with the new-ball under captain Brendon McCullum.

Southee, who turns 28, has taken 190 wickets in 54 Tests at an average of 31.52. His best figures are 7 for 64.

In ODIs, he has 144 wickets in 106 matches. Southee is also known for his rope-clearing abilities and can send the ball a long way. He continues to be an important part of the Kiwi’s under Kane Williamson.
