As the name implies, the Walk for Education is an event which will see thousands of UAE residents take to Dubai’s Creek Park in a walk to amass funds for children from developing countries.
While it doesn’t reflect the reality behind actual distances traversed by impoverished people each day, the 34-minute walk is an act of solidarity and also adheres to the theme of health and fitness against the backdrop of the crippling problem of obesity and diabetes in the Gulf.
Family-friendly activities will be available to members of the public once the main walk is complete.
