  • The Ukrainian produced some scintillating tennis to beat the World No2 6-3 7-6 (3) and extend her winning run to 11 matches.

    “I was just trying to stay in the moment and she was struggling a little bit with her knee. She wasn’t chasing balls down, it was very strange for me as I couldn’t get my rhythm,” the 22-year-old told assembled media.

    “Obviously, with a semi-final, there’s extra pressure, it’s always tough.

    “You never know what to expect from a final but I just try to stay in the same mindset as I am now.”

    In the day’s other semi-final, Danish former World No1 Caroline Wozniacki reached the last two with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Anastasija Sevastova at the Aviation Club.
